Thanks for the report. We will continue to improve the performance.
However, this comparision may not be exact and correct. When you boot from vhd, all files i/o are done to vhd, then vboot updates the vhd file. In other words, when you boot from from vhd, there is only one file (the vhd file) written directly to the real disk. The number of disk i/o is different. vboot also caches some disk.
You may want to compare file copy performance. for example, copy one 2g file in c: drive, w/ and w/o vhd boot.
